Unfortunately, there are no stores in New York that sell shogi equipment. Members generally acquire their sets from Japan or from online stores like eBay or Amazon.

Yes! New members who are still learning the basics will be matched with experienced members to play handicap games. Although there is no formal teaching, we’re happy to go over basics of openings and tactics together.
